Position Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to help patients achieve optimal functional outcomes and independence.

Qualifications
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois under the Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act
  • AOTA membership or eligibility preferred
  • Strong clinical skills across a variety of patient populations and diagnoses
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
Essential Responsibilities
  • Review patient information and assist with treatment planning
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions as established in the plan of care
  • Complete accurate documentation and communication regarding patient progress
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate outcomes to supervising therapist and care team
  • Maintain professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in quality improvement and team development initiatives
