Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Virginia physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Minimum 6 months of outpatient physical therapy experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans, and document progress in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with students and other therapy staff as needed.
  • Maintain professional licensure and complete state-mandated continuing education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient orthopedic and community-focused rehabilitation.
  • Experience writing letters of medical necessity and working within insurance authorization processes.
  • Experience participating in performance improvement initiatives and mentoring students.

Assignment Details

  • Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 10:0019:00; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 07:0016:00.
  • Position is outpatient setting in Fredericksburg, VA.
  • Must demonstrate adherence to clinic safety policies and safe patient handling practices.

Impacting Patient Care

Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Ensure design of functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities. Complete clear, concise, and timely medical record documentation, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessment, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry. Participate in student education and professional development activities. Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act, professional codes of conduct, and organizational policies related to safety and compliance.
