Were hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Kalispell, MT where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role requires independent clinical decision-making and participation in rapid responses, traumas, and codes. You will work across units and support a mixed adult and pediatric population in emergency and critical care settings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelors degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current Montana state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required. No CRTs accepted.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory experience.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required.
- Experience with ventilator management, non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP), high-flow oxygen, assisting with intubations, bedside bronchoscopy, tracheostomy insertion and care, and management of ventilated/critical patients.
- Comfort with autonomous clinical judgment and responding to rapid responses, traumas, and codes.
- Willingness to float to all hospital units, including ER, PCU, MedSurg, and ICU. Candidates may be assigned to pediatric units only if comfortable.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICU or PICU RRT experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing preferred.
- Familiarity with Draeger and Hamilton ventilators, oscillators, and neonatal pneumatic ventilators preferred.
Assignment Details
- Will float throughout the hospital as needed; pediatric assignments only if candidate is comfortable.
- Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training with approximately 34 shifts across different units; NEO provided.
- Schedule cycle is created in 6-week increments and released several weeks prior to start. Travelers will be used to fill schedule gaps.
- Holiday expectation: coverage for approximately 50% of holidays as defined in the contract.
- Approval for requested time off routed through the manager.
- Scrub policy: any solid, professional color; no neon, graphics, or visible logos.
