Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Travel Job

Were hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Canton, OH. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role includes delivery of intensive respiratory care, patient transport, ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial puncture, monitoring, and documentation according to facility policy and physician orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
  • One year experience as an RRT.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators, performing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, and suctioning techniques.
  • Experience with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, oximetry, and capnography monitoring.
  • Ability to perform 12-lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
  • Experience assisting with bronchoscopies, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and emergency airway procedures.
  • Familiarity with pulmonary function testing (e.g., NIF, VC) and chest physiotherapy techniques.
  • For hospitals with moderate complexity labs: adherence to laboratory specimen handling, quality control, and documentation procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • Prior hospital experience in acute care or critical care settings preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Shift pattern: Nights, 3x12.
