Physical Therapy Assistant - Travel Contract

Make a measurable impact as a traveling Physical Therapist Assistant in a skilled nursing facility in Lawrence Township, NJ. You will work with patients recovering from illness or injury to improve mobility and function under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The position involves working in a fast-paced subacute/SNF environment with support staff available for transport and rehabilitation tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited educational program.
• Active New Jersey PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in skilled nursing, subacute, or assisted living environments preferred.
• Experience using UDS or NetHealth EMR preferred.
• Ability to manage patient caseload consistent with SNF/subacute settings. PTA-specific: ability to co-sign documentation as needed per facility procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience treating a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting.
• Experience working with rehabilitation technicians and delegating transport and assistance tasks.

Assignment Details

• Shift Days: Monday through Friday.
• Typical schedule: approximately 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Patient treatment time: PTA will treat approximately 7.5 hours per day.
• EMR systems used: UDS for acute and NetHealth for subacute.
• Facility may require floating between units within the site as clinical needs dictate.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to residents in a subacute skilled nursing environment. Collaborate with licensed therapists, nursing staff, and rehab technicians to support safe mobility, discharge planning, and functional outcomes. Maintain documentation in the facility EMR and follow supervisory co-signature requirements as applicable.
