EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree and appropriate service credential BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education/Pupil Services and under the immediate direction of the site administrator while performing services at the school site, provide diagnostic, remedial and consultive services for children with communicative disorders. The selected candidate will work closely with a team of qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapists. Support and mentoring is available while working towards the required Language, Speech, Hearing Service Credential if not currently held. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Effectively identify students with communicative disorders and select cases according to appropriate criteria as determined by the Speech, Language and Hearing Therapist. Employ assessment procedures, techniques and standard tests necessary for accurate diagnosis and convey information to cooperating personnel. Formulate short and long term therapeutic goals to meet individual needs. Guide pupils toward an awareness of their responsibility for modifying the behavior which characterizes their communicative disorder. Record and analyze responses related to improving communicative skills. Plan and conduct appropriate teacher and parent conferences. Participate in multi-disciplinary staff conferences with school, county, and community personnel. Other related duties.

1) Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential 2) Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally-accredited college or university authorizing service as a Speech Clinician or Speech and Language Pathologist 3) California Speech-Language Pathology License, preferred or Meet criteria for Variable Term Waiver for a Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential. Required criteria for initial waiver: 1) Hold a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Disorder or a closely aligned field or hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or an Education Specialist credential. 2) Must be enrolled in a California or out-of-state Speech-Language Pathology Program. We are one of four elementary (TK-8) school districts in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. We have 10 schools: 8 elementary (TK-5) and 2 junior high (6-8) schools with an enrollment of 5,500. If selected, required fingerprint verification at an approx. cost of $52 to the employee and proof of TB clearance (within 4 years) at employee's cost or a "Certificate of Completion" signed by a licensed health care provider for the Adult TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire and a Certificate of Completion for the CA Mandated Reporter Training.
