Physical Therapy Assistant - Travel Contract

Make a real difference as a travel PTA working in a skilled nursing facility in Purcell, OK. You will work with patients recovering from illness or injury to improve mobility, function, and independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes evidence-based interventions, documentation of treatment minutes and progress, interdisciplinary communication, and participation in required facility meetings and trainings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active PTA state license required at time of submission.
- 1+ year of PTA experience required.
- Experience in long term care (LTC) or rehab settings required.
- Ability to document treatment minutes and clinical records per regulatory requirements.
- Resume required at time of submission.
- Skills checklist within 1 year required.
- 01 reference required at time of submission.
- Must be able to work under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist and communicate patient progress effectively.
- New graduates considered only with Level II clinical experience rather than observation-only Level I.
Preferred Qualifications
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC preferred.
- Prior experience supervising or supporting students preferred.
Assignment Details
- M-F, 8 hour days. Start time flexible as long as consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab. Therapists are asked to start before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM.
- Weekend requirement: No weekends.

Impacting Patient Care
You will provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions per the rehabilitation plan. Duties include manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, ambulation training, use of assistive devices, modalities as appropriate, documentation of treatment and progress, participation in patient care conferences and utilization review, and coordination with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding discharge planning and equipment needs. Practice must adhere to APTA and state practice acts and ethical standards.
