Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Harrisonville, MO. You will work with patients in a skilled nursing setting to improve mobility, function, and quality of life under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, documenting care, communicating patient progress, participating in care conferences, and supporting discharge planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active PTA license. Compact license accepted where applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience.
- Experience in long term care (LTC) or skilled rehab settings is required.
- Ability to document treatment minutes and clinical records per regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
- BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, ambulation training, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
- Experience supervising or supporting students under PT guidance.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in skilled nursing.
Assignment Details
- M-F, 8 hour days. Times are flexible as long as consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab.
- Start time must be before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM.
- 35 guaranteed worked wage (GWW) per week.

Impacting Patient Care
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders. Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust plans of care. Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences and utilization review. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to APTA and state practice acts and ethics. Support DME and supply needs as directed by supervising Physical Therapist.
