New Hanover Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide services in an Inpatient setting under the direction and supervision of a licensed therapist and functions as part of an interdisciplinary team. Schedule: Every other Saturday (7:15a-3:45p)

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity function.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on initial assessments and ongoing evaluations.
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Fabricate and fit custom orthotics and splints to support healing and functional improvement.
  • Conduct pre-surgical education and postoperative rehabilitation for patients undergoing hand surgery.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification and stay current with industry advancements.
What We're Looking For

  • Education : High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate from an accredited OT assistant program, required.
  • Licensure/Certification : Appropriate state OT assistant license, required.
