We are hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel contract role in Knox City, TX at a skilled nursing facility. Under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain skills for everyday life through therapeutic activities, ADL training, adaptive equipment instruction, and caregiver education. Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college.
  • Active TX state license or compact license required to start the assignment.
  • Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long term care or skilled nursing setting. (Required)
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and instructing patients and caregivers on ADLs and adaptive equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with discharge planning or DOR (discharge of record) processes. (Preferred)
  • Experience with common long term care operational tasks including equipment cleaning and basic administrative duties. (Preferred)

Assignment Details

  • Shift: 8 hr days - 40 hrs guaranteed.
  • Weekend requirement: None.
  • Compact license accepted; TX license or compact required.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled occupational therapy assistance in a skilled nursing environment. You will execute therapy plans designed by the supervising OT, document progress, instruct patients and families on adaptive strategies, and support safe, functional independence for residents. Your role will include treatment implementation, ADL training, adaptive equipment instruction, and routine documentation and reporting.
