Physical therapists play a vital role in evaluating, developing, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients across the lifespan, improving functional mobility, reducing pain, and preventing disability. This contract opportunity focuses on providing high-quality outpatient therapy to a diverse patient population within a hospital setting. The professional in this role will utilize advanced techniques to restore function and promote active, healthy lifestyles, while also educating patients on injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00am 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am 12:30pm
- Occasional weekend coverage required for acute care evaluations (approximately every 5 weeks)
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina Physical Therapy license (required at time of application)
- Minimum of two years recent professional experience in physical therapy; hospital experience strongly preferred
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Experience supervising PT assistants/aides and implementing care plans
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed therapy interventions for outpatients
- Develop and adjust individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings
- Provide education on ergonomics, restorative therapy, and injury prevention
- Supervise and direct PT assistants and support staff during treatments
- Occasionally perform acute care evaluations as part of weekend rotation
