Description
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans targeting short- and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, friends and families, to develop holistic care approaches.
- Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless care for your patients throughout their recovery journey.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in professional development through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
