Description

  • Craft personalized treatment plans that align with the unique short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of each patient.
  • Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy interventions tailored to areas such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain consistent care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational compliance requirements.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in your field through ongoing education and networking with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet accredited by ASHA.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
