Description
- Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions that emphasize communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to develop integrated care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and their families to support progress outside of therapy appointments.
- Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure continuity of care throughout the treatment timeline.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date documentation consistent with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to ongoing professional development through continuous education and peer collaboration.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
