Job Overview:

Assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language therapy services for students with communication disorders, including technical assistance with equipment required for accommodating disabilities or required supports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associate's degree from college, 60 credits in related program; or

2. A minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or

3. An aggregate combination of experience and education in the field.

4. An SLPA license.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.

Reports to : Building Principal

Work Year : 184 days (school year)

Salary/Benefits : Per the negotiated PAT contract

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Follows established Individual Educational Plans to facilitate students' progress on communication and educational goals under the supervision of the Speech Language Pathologist.
  2. Collects data for monitoring services, as well as setting up and tracking assigned equipment.
  3. Maintains files and records including but not limited to progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
  4. Prepares, under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist, materials necessary to provide services.
  5. Schedules activities as directed.

  1. Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
  2. Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
  3. Capacity to engage in activities that may require lifting, bending, or other physical movements as needed.
  4. Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
