Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Craft individualized treatment plans to meet diverse communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
  • Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions focused on a range of needs including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to create a well-rounded care approach.
  • Provide education for patients and family members to foster continued progress beyond clinical settings.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation that aligns with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Enhance your practice through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications Required

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in progress towards obtaining ASHA certification.

Certifications to Hold

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
