Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric cohorts using a blend of standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment approaches targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to formulate cohesive care frameworks.
  • Provide education to patients and families to encourage progress outside the clinic environment.
  • Support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, creating seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Ensure precise and timely documentation that complies with all state, federal, and organizational protocols.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development, incorporating the latest advancements in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment.
