Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the full school year at an elementary school serving grades K-4 in Wichita, KS. This contract role focuses on supporting students with speech, language, and communication challenges, ensuring their academic and social development in a collaborative school environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations for students referred by educators, parents, or specialists. Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with targeted goals and treatment plans aligned with federal, state, and district requirements. Provide direct speech therapy services through individual and small-group sessions, addressing a variety of communication disorders. Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and other support staff to integrate speech-language objectives into classroom activities. Maintain detailed records, document student progress, and prepare reports in a timely manner. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing professional development. Provide support for students utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices when necessary. Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state SLP license and/or Department of Education certification. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly K-4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to a school setting.
