LEARN's Office of Student Support Services has an anticipated opening for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to work in our outplacement programs located in Southeastern Connecticut.
General Scope of Responsibility
Provides direct treatment to students to extend services of the Speech & Language Pathologist and varied levels of consultation to other adults on behalf of the students.
Relationship Within the Organization
The SLPA will be responsible to the Director of Special Services and supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide direct treatment to students as prescribed, directed and supervised by the certified/licensed SLP and by team goals and objectives.
- Provide varied levels of consultation to other team members and appropriate adults on behalf of the student as determined by the supervising or designated Speech Language Pathologist.
- Contribute to monitoring and adapting student programs.
- Prepare and assist with progress reports and daily notes.
- Maintain equipment and materials.
- Perform other duties associated with the assistant SLP position.
- Meet with supervising Speech Language Pathologist as appropriately determined.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
