Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and clinical observations.
- Create customized treatment plans that meet both immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on aspects such as communication, language enhancement, fluency, voice control, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise and implement comprehensive care strategies.
- Educate patients and families to foster ongoing progress beyond the therapy environment.
- Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions when necessary, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for your patients.
- Maintain thorough and precise documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organization standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaborative peer engagement.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferably possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is to be completed within 30 days of starting employment.
