Category Therapy - Skilled - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to provide critical support to elementary students through individualized speech and language assessment and therapy during the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), with a schedule from Monday to Friday, fully in-person in Woodbridge, VA. Key Responsibilities: Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments related to speech, language, articulation, and audition for students referred for special education services. Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to interpret findings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning. Provide consultative and advisory support to school personnel, families, and healthcare agencies to promote effective communication and track student progress. Work directly with children with speech and language impairments to enhance both academic and social communication skills. Assist regular and special education staff with language program development tailored to classroom and community settings. Qualifications: Active Virginia SLP license required. Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology and school-based settings preferred. Strong background in speech and language assessment, evaluation, and consultation. Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and collaborating with families. Knowledge of special education procedures and disability categories, including expertise in early learning or atypical impairments. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster positive, professional relationships. Effective communication skills, including active listening and clear two-way interactions. Ability to maintain a positive and engaging workplace atmosphere, incorporating humor and lightheartedness.
