Speech-Language Specialist -Evaluation Services (SPANISH & CREOLE) Hiring Organization: ATC Healthcare Services - New Jersey Client : East Orange Board of Education Location: East Orange, New Jersey Position Overview: The Speech-Language Specialist will conduct initial and re-evaluation assessments for students across Pre-School (3 & 4), Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. This role involves testing, report preparation, consultation with the Child Study Team (CST), and participation in IEP processes to support student success. Key Responsibilities Evaluation Services Conduct a minimum of 100 initial and re-evaluations annually. Administer standardized tests and diagnostic tools, including: Test of Language Development (TOLD) Test of Early Language Development (TELD) Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals (CELF) Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation (GFTA) Preschool Language Scale - 5 (PLS-5) Functional Communication Profile - Revised (FCP-R) Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (EOWPVT) Receptive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (ROWPVT) Receptive-Expressive Emergent Language Test - 4 (REEL-4) Prepare and submit comprehensive written evaluation reports within two weeks of testing. Identify or rule out speech-language communication disabilities and provide educational programming recommendations. Collaboration & Consultation Participate in pre-planning IEP meetings with district-based case managers. Consult with teachers and instructional staff to reinforce student speech-language goals. Be available by phone to confer with CST managers regarding results. Modify evaluations or reports within five (5) business days of district request. Scheduling & Engagement Coordinate with parents/guardians to schedule evaluations at district-approved locations. Conduct assessments at schools or central office facilities. Develop and share Speech Therapy schedules with administration, teachers, and CST members. Provide services during the 10-month school year and 20-day Summer Extension Program, with flexibility for before/after school hours. Qualifications Required: New Jersey Certificate for Speech-Language Specialist or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of professional experience in speech-language evaluation. Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Creole. Experience in school-based or pediatric settings. Strong ability to test and evaluate students at multiple grade levels. Skills & Competencies: Proficiency with standardized speech-language assessment tools. Strong written communication and comprehensive report writing skills. Effective time management and ability to meet strict deadlines. Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary educational teams.
