Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist 2 Department: Health Sciences | Nisonger Center

Provide speech-language pathology services to children enrolled in early intervention (EI) and/or preschool Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in collaboration with a transdisciplinary team (occupational therapist, physical therapist, intervention specialist, social worker, classroom teachers, and families); use evidence-based practices embedded within daily routines and the natural environment; use family-centered and trauma-informed approaches to intervention; consult with and coach transdisciplinary team members regarding goals and objectives; follow a primary service provider model with a coaching approach to intervention with families and caregivers as part of Part C Early Intervention, complete home and community visits for children on caseload and consultation with other team members; participate with the transition from Part C to Part B services as necessary for children; provide support for childcare providers and teachers regarding language, communication, feeding, and other oral-motor needs of children under their care; complete developmental screening and progress assessments for children on caseload; complete and maintain required documentation for services to children on caseload; participate in ongoing professional development and program development activities as a part of a transdisciplinary EI team; Creative coll aboration and participation in relevant professional development courses for in house and communi ty partners; may supervise graduate students placed within the Nisonger Center. This position will work flexible hours Monday-Friday 7:00am-7:00pm depending on the needs of the family or care providers for the children served. Must have personal transportation and a valid drivers license for travel within Franklin County.

Minimum Education Required
Master's Level Degree, Certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA, Licensure from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Board, Licensure from Ohio Department of Education

Required Qualifications
Experience in or exposure to early intervention/special education settings desired; experience with young children required; experience with children with disabilities desired; ability to handle sensitive information required; ability to collaborate with other professionals in a team environment required; current first aid, communicative disease, infant/child CPR and child abuse recognition certification and/or training within 120 days of employment required. Requires successful completion and is subject to a Bureau of Criminal Investigation check; qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen

Additional Information:
