School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist K12 SLP Role Detroit Public Schools

Position Summary:
The SLP will assess student needs, create individualized therapy plans, and provide services that support academic and communication goals. This position involves working closely with general and special education staff, families, and other service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and write comprehensive speech-language reports

  • Deliver individual and group therapy in alignment with IEP goals

  • Document student progress and maintain compliance records

  • Participate in IEP meetings and consult with school staff

  • Support students with a variety of communication needs (language, articulation, fluency, and pragmatic skills)

Required Credentials:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Active Michigan SLP license and Michigan Teaching Certificate with SLP endorsement

  • ASHA CCC strongly preferred

  • Previous experience in school settings is a plus

  • Strong collaboration, documentation, and communication skills

Position Details:

  • Type: Full-time, onsite

  • Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

  • Caseload: K12 (based on district needs)
