Detroit Public Schools Community District is actively hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct and consultative services to students with communication needs. This full-time role offers the opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team focused on equitable access to education and student achievement.
Position Overview:
The SLP will deliver services aligned with IEP goals, provide assessments, and collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to help students improve speech, language, and communication skills essential for classroom success.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct speech and language assessments and generate evaluation reports
Create and implement individualized treatment plans
Deliver direct therapy in individual or group settings
Track progress, document services, and update IEP goals as needed
Collaborate with special education teams and school staff
Support a variety of student needs including articulation, fluency, receptive/expressive language, and social communication
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid Michigan SLP license and Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement
ASHA CCC preferred
Experience in school settings strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills
Job Details:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday, during school hours
Caseload: K12 students (specifics depend on district assignment)
