Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential support within a K-12 educational environment in Washington, DC. This contract position involves working with a diverse student population to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, contributing to the overall development and academic success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students across grades K-12.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
- Document therapy sessions and maintain detailed records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide consultative support and training to school staff on speech-language related topics.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license to practice in Washington, DC.
- Experience working with children in a K-12 school setting.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently and maintain accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with IEP procedures and special education regulations.
