Description

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized measures and observational methods.
  • Craft customized treatment plans aiming for both short-term milestones and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy focusing on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish an integrated approach to patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families to encourage progress outside the therapy setting.
  • Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistency in care throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in adherence to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Commit to ongoing learning through continued education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist within Kentucky.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
