A part-time Speech Language Pathologist position is available in a K-12 school setting in Sterling Heights, MI. This is an on-site contract role for the 2023-2024 school year. The position involves evaluating students who require speech and language services and performing reevaluations for those currently with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough speech and language evaluations to determine student needs
- Performing reevaluations to monitor progress and adjust services as necessary
- Actively participating in IEP meetings to collaborate on student goals and accommodations
- Scheduling and providing direct speech therapy services, generally between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Documenting services and maintaining records using the EdPlan system
Qualifications and experience:
- Valid state certification/license as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience working in a K-12 school environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with educational management software such as EdPlan is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
