Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning all ages, utilizing both standardized tests and observational insights.
  • Create individualized treatment plans focused on achieving both immediate and long-term goals in communication and swallowing.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that enhance language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, and medical staff, to foster comprehensive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to effectively support therapy advancements beyond your sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient evaluations as required, facilitating a continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Document patient interactions meticulously, in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of innovations in speech therapy.

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
