We are currently looking for a Full Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Pediatric Clinic Team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr. Summary: Provides speech-language pathology services to pediatric patients referred to speech-language pathology. Responsibilities: * Provides speech-language pathology services for patients * Aids in the care and safety of patients * Protects the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy * Available to confer with person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient care and keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatments, modifications and/or progress * Implements proper techniques to assist and handle patients, and the ability to handle tools and machines of the profession * Collaborates with leadership and coordinates patient scheduling and implementing speech-language pathology services * Performs housekeeping duties by routine and periodic cleaning to maintain cleanliness and infection control * Evaluates assigned patients referred to speech-language pathology or other offered services by the department * Interprets and carries out the referral of the physician * Completes and submits all reports pertaining to evaluation and treatment within a timely manner * Practices speech-language pathology consistent with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics * Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility * Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area * Demonstrates economic use of time, equipment, and supplies * Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types - Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner - Greets and engages with a smile - Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards * Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc. * Maintains knowledge of and enforce all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc. * Ensures employees and resources complete assigned training and development * Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies: Essential: * Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements * Ability to work independently * Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability * Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines * Learn and apply Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Privacy Act, Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), Freedom of Information Act, Compliance Standards, Joint Commission Accreditation, and other various regulations * Knowledge of human anatomy * Knowledge and understanding of First American populations * Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of speech-language pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics * Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Skills: Essential: * Basic Computer skills Experience: Nonessential: * 1 year directly related experience Education: Essential: * Masters Degree in directly related field Essential: * Must be a graduate of an approved school of Speech-Language Pathology Credentials: Essential: * Basic Life Support (BLS) * Speech Language Pathologist * CN Core Leadership Level 1 Essential: * Must have or be eligible for state licensure or registration for Speech-Language Pathology * Must complete level one of the CN Core Leadership training within 12 months of hire or promotion Working Conditions: Essential: * Works in a hospital or clinic environment * Frequently lift patients * Potential exposure to contagious diseases * Potential exposure to radiation * Moderately strenuous work * Pass pre-employment drug test
