Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for patients of all ages, utilizing standard assessments along with observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans targeting immediate goals and the overarching needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvements.
- Team up with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise cohesive care protocols.
- Provide educational support for patients and families, promoting development beyond therapy sessions.
- Manage occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies as needed to ensure continuous care throughout the patient's journey.
- Keep comprehensive, accurate documentation that meets all state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional collaboration, staying abreast of developments in the field.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, to be acquired within 30 days of hire.
