Description

  • Conduct evaluations for diverse age groups including pediatric, adult, and geriatrics, utilizing both standardized metrics as well as observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized therapy plans aimed at addressing immediate as well as ongoing communication or swallowing difficulties.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop shared care strategies that ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to encourage continual progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Engage in patient assessments and interventions on occasions when inpatient care is required, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation to comply with state, federal, and institutional guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements within the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is a prerequisite if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within the first month of hire.
