Description

  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients through standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans aimed at achieving both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to facilitate progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Assist with inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions as necessary to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in continuous education and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with strong proficiency in developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Skilled in the use of electronic medical records and proper documentation practices.
