Description
- Conduct assessments of children, adults, and seniors using both standardized testing and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate and long-term needs concerning communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver individualized therapy sessions focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work in partnership with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop a holistic care approach.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families to aid progress outside the clinical environment.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatment to ensure seamless care throughout the recovery journey.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation that meets state, federal, and organization standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continued learning and collaborative efforts with colleagues.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
