Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations across a spectrum of age groups, utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods to assess communication and swallowing skills.
• Create tailored treatment plans designed to achieve both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
• Deliver engaging one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language modulation, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing challenges.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress beyond clinic sessions.
• Participate occasionally in inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient journey.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation that adheres to state and federal standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.

Education

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
