Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations across various age groups using standardized assessments and observation techniques.
  • Design individualized treatment strategies that tackle immediate client objectives and longer-term communication and swallowing goals.
  • Implement focused speech therapy sessions addressing areas such as language development, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing function.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and other caregivers to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Deliver education and resources to patients and their families to enhance progress outside of therapy appointments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation adhering to local, state, and organizational guidelines.
  • Pursue continuous learning through professional development and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based interventions relevant to a diverse client base, with deep insights into developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding communication abilities when interfacing with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
