Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time Occupational Therapist opportunity is available supporting elementary school students across three conveniently located school sites within driving distance in Lafayette, IN. This contract position spans the upcoming school year and offers a chance to impact young learners through specialized therapy services starting as soon as May 22nd. Key Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations to determine student eligibility and need for occupational therapy services compliant with IDEA and Section 504. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals focused on occupational therapy interventions. Provide direct and consultative OT services using evidence-based strategies in individual, small group, or classroom settings. Collaborate closely with educators, parents, administrators, and related service providers to enhance student inclusion and progress. Address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, activities of daily living (ADLs), and assistive technology. Maintain accurate documentation including evaluations, progress notes, Medicaid billing (if applicable), and service logs. Participate actively in IEP meetings, student support teams, and multidisciplinary evaluations. Offer training and resources to school staff and families to support student needs in multiple environments. Assist in adapting materials and classroom settings to maximize student access and participation. Qualifications: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Indiana licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR). NBCOT certification. School-based experience preferred but not mandatory. Ability to travel between multiple school sites. Solid knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based therapy best practices. Skills and Competencies: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities. Strong caseload management and organizational skills. Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory integration methods. Capable of working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
