Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time occupational therapist is needed to provide school-based therapy services across three elementary school sites within driving distance of Frankfort, IN. This contract role starts ASAP, with an anticipated start date of May 22nd, and will run through the next school year (NSY). Responsibilities include evaluating students for eligibility and occupational therapy needs in compliance with IDEA and Section 504 guidelines. The therapist will develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each student, delivering individual, small group, and consultative services using evidence-based strategies. Collaboration with educators, families, administrators, and related service providers is essential to promote inclusion and support student progress. Key intervention areas include fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, ADLs, and assistive technology. Accurate documentationsuch as evaluations, progress notes, service logs, and Medicaid billing if applicablemust be maintained. Active participation in IEP meetings, student support teams, and multidisciplinary evaluations is expected. Additionally, the therapist will provide training and resources to staff and families and assist in adapting materials and classroom environments to enhance student engagement. Qualifications include a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, current Indiana licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR), and NBCOT certification. While school-based experience is preferred, it is not required. The ability to travel between school sites and a strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and best practices in school-based therapy are necessary. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, can manage multiple tasks, is familiar with assistive technology and sensory integration methods, and works well independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
