Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients in pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that encompass both immediate objectives and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing practices.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to devise integrated care approaches.
  • Supply education to patients and families to facilitate continued progress beyond patient visits.
  • Participate in occasional assessments and interventions for inpatient therapy, thereby ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Keep comprehensive and prompt documentation that adheres to all pertinent state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in professional development and stay abreast of advancements in the speech-language field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
