Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized methods and observational insights.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies aimed at achieving immediate goals as well as addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Provide personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing.
  • Work synergistically with teams of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families to empower ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, guaranteeing continuity throughout rehabilitation.
  • Document all assessments and interventions accurately and promptly, adhering to relevant standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and collaborative interactions with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be obtained within the first month of employment.
