Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and observations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognition, and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers.
  • Educate patients and families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient therapy to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay current with professional knowledge through continuing education.

Education and Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (if not yet ASHA-certified).
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire).
