Description

  • Assess patients across all age groups, employing standardized assessment tools and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions that concentrate on communication, language, fluency, voice, and dietary needs.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, families, and caregivers to frame comprehensive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families, equipping them to reinforce progress beyond the clinical environment.
  • Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring a continuous care trajectory.
  • Document patient interactions accurately and promptly, adhering to both state and federal regulations as well as organizational policies.
  • Engage in continuing education and peer cooperation to stay updated with industry advancements.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
