Description
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients utilizing standardized measures and observation techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies aimed at addressing both immediate and long-term speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver personalized speech therapies focusing on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing efforts.
- Work alongside occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop cohesive and comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Provide education for patients and families to facilitate progress between therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment continuum.
- Keep accurate records and documentation that adhere to state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay adept in the field.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
