Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through the use of standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Design tailored treatment plans targeting both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Implement individualized speech therapy interventions with a focus on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish integrated care strategies that achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide education for patients and families to support continued progress outside of clinical sessions.
- Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care throughout the recovery process.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage in ongoing education and professional development to remain current with advancements within the field.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
