Occupational Therapists (OTs) play a pivotal role in the therapy industry by helping individuals across all ages to participate in the activities and tasks they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday tasks (occupations). To become a successful OT, one should possess excellent interpersonal skills, physical stamina, patience, and creativity. They should also possess strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to assess patients' needs and create appropriate treatment plans. They must have a master's degree from an accredited occupational therapy program and pass a national certification examination to become a certified Occupational Therapist. Some states may also require additional licensing.
