Position Overview:
A school district in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their student services team in a full-time capacity. This on-site role involves working with K12 students who require support with communication skills, speech clarity, language development, and fluency. The ideal candidate will bring both clinical expertise and a collaborative approach to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer evaluations to assess speech and language needs
Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
Provide direct therapy services to students in group and individual settings
Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and services
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student success
Adhere to state and federal special education requirements
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
Valid Louisiana SLP license (LBESPA)
Must hold an active Louisiana SLP teaching license
Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
Prior school-based experience preferred
