Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Full-Time Public School Setting Lake Charles, LA

About the Opportunity:
A public school district in Lake Charles, LA is actively hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its team. This on-site role focuses on helping students develop essential speech and language skills needed for academic and social success. The SLP will assess communication needs, deliver therapy services, and collaborate with staff and families to create effective, individualized strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations to identify speech and language impairments

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment results

• Provide direct speech therapy to students in individual and small-group settings

• Monitor progress, maintain detailed documentation, and update goals as appropriate

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions

• Support school teams with classroom strategies for generalization of skills

• Ensure services comply with all state and federal educational regulations

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology

• Active Louisiana Speech-Language Pathology license through LBESPA

• Must hold an active Louisiana SLP teaching license

• Strong understanding of school-based service delivery and IEP compliance

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills

• Previous school-based experience is preferred
