Recreation Specialist, Lewis Mountain

The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal Recreation Specialist to join our team at Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia. This position plays a key role in retail and guest operations, overseeing the camp store and 10 rentable rooms at Lewis Mountain. The Recreation Specialist will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experience through thoughtful programming, property upkeep, and day-to-day operational support. This role includes light property maintenance such as fire pit cleanout, light landscaping, and ensuring the grounds remain clean and welcoming.

Pay

Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $43,888 - $53,200 / year

What will you do?

• Plan, organize, and deliver engaging recreation activities for guests staying at Lewis Mountain
• Recommend and establish prices for products and services
• Maintain existing recreation programs and develop new activities that ensure the highest possible guest experience
• Ensure proper repair and maintenance of equipment
• Establish and manages an effective system for cash and inventory
• Maintain positive guest relations by responding to requests in a timely manner
• Accountable for budget and profitability of department
• perate a motor vehicle when necessary

More about you

• Previous cash handling and point-of-sale experience required
• Experience delivering recreational activities for guests is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong financial acumen; analytical and detail oriented
• Must have a valid driver's license
