School-Based OT Role Help Elizabeth, NJ Students Build Functional Skills

Elizabeth Public Schools is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team in supporting students motor and functional development. This onsite role focuses on improving students participation in school activities through targeted interventions and collaborative planning.

About the Role:
Youll evaluate student needs, create individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapy aligned with IEP goals. Your work will help students develop the fine motor and adaptive skills needed for success in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations for students referred through special education

• Deliver direct and consultative OT services per IEP requirements

• Address fine motor coordination, sensory integration, and self-help skills

• Collaborate with educators, school teams, and families

• Participate in IEP meetings and write data-driven reports

• Ensure documentation meets state and district compliance standards

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active New Jersey Occupational Therapy License

• NJ DOE Educational Services Certificate (OT endorsement required for school setting)

• Previous school or pediatric experience preferred

• Strong communication and documentation skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: Monday through Friday during regular school hours

• Caseload: K12 (specific site(s) assigned by district)
