Physical Therapy Aide

Aide/Technician

Reports To: Clinical Director of Assigned Clinic

FLSA Status: Full Time or Part-time, Non-exempt

Job Purpose:

As a Physical Therapist Aide/Tech, you will be responsible for assisting our licensed Physical Therapists

in providing exceptional care to our patients. You will be responsible for organizing and cleaning

treatment areas, recording patient progress for the physical therapist, and ordering and arranging

supplies. Hands on duties are not required or permitted for this position as defined by CA PTB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up all stations and prep all supplies for patients throughout the day.

Track supplies inventory and notify the Lead aide if orders need to be placed via Amazon.

Preview and remain aware all scheduled appointments and/or changes each day.

Make note of busiest times or potential scheduling problems vigilantly.

Maintain communication with DPTs and PTAs throughout each day on exercise plans and treatment

timing.

Monitor patients closely and immediately notify the treating physicians of any change in conditions.

Always keep track of patients during treatments.

Remain vigilant in the following areas: exercise timers, greeting patients, and ensuring no patients are left

waiting.

Closely monitor verbal cues, body language, and be prepared to encourage/meet patient needs.

Observe patients while they are performing the DPT prescribed therapeutic exercises. Notify the treating

clinician if you notice any safety concerns.

Check emails regularly throughout the day for any important updates.

Additional duties as assigned.

An Aide shall not:

Attempt to diagnose or influence patients on their injury.

Perform patient related duties as defined by the physical therapy board.

Assign an exercise to a patient that was not prescribed by the Doctor of Physical Therapy.
